Trials of the Realm

The fog parts. The Realm is growing. Beginning August 17th, it starts asking things of you.

Trials of the Realm is the first content drop of the post-launch era — the moment the app stops being a finished thing you log into and starts being a world that occasionally hands you something new. It shipped on Monday, August 17th, 2026, on a double-rune day, and it's the template every future drop will follow: new content, and a Notice Board line that warned you it was coming.

Daily Quests & Weekly Trials

Trials of the Realm adds two new slots to your board: a Daily Quest, dealt fresh every night, and a Weekly Trial, dealt every Monday and judged over the full week. Both are the realm asking for something a little outside your normal routine — extra pushes, not more of what you were already doing.

The Stretch Filter

The realm keeps track of what you already do. If you've hit a given quest's target on 60% or more of the last two weeks, it won't deal you that one — it isn't interested in handing you credit for your normal Tuesday. Quests are meant to feel like a genuine stretch, not a rerun.

Daily Quest Tier Reward Range Notes
Effort5,000 – 7,000The everyday stretch
Push8,000 – 12,000A bigger ask
Trial13,000 – 16,000Genuinely hard
Ordeal20,000 – 25,000Rare, and always pays out loot too

Weekly Trials pay 12,000–20,000 Runes, or up to 35,000 for the rare "Crucible" tier.

Drew a Weekly Trial you cannot win? The Cartkeeper sells the Writ of Reassignment (Uncommon, merchant-exclusive — see Merchant Wares). Use it and your current Weekly Trial is struck from the ledger; the realm deals a fresh one from the full weekly pool at the next 2am dawn, judged over the whole week from Monday like any other. Three rules: once per week, never on a Sunday (the replacement would land in the new week), and whatever progress you had on the old trial is abandoned. The struck trial is never judged and never pays.

The Key of the Realm

An Uncommon-tier consumable (re-rated from Rare on September 2, 2026, so its Cartkeeper price sits below what a Key quest pays) — it drops the same way any other Uncommon item does: task completions, workouts, boss kills, the usual loot rolls (see Loot & Equipment for exact odds), and the Cartkeeper stocks it too. No special source, no guaranteed drop — just the ordinary Uncommon pool. Use one on any day to unlock one extra hidden quest for that day only, drawn from its own pool of twelve:

Band Reward Rough Odds
Gimme6,000 – 8,000~47%
Effort12,000 – 15,000~34%
Jackpot20,000 – 25,000~19%

Every Key quest pays guaranteed loot on top of the Runes — there's no dud draw. One of the twelve is The Realm's Champion, which asks for a real cardio session or a real lift session, plus a couple of your smaller daily tasks — which is, suspiciously, almost exactly what a certain Game Master already does most mornings. The wiki isn't accusing anyone of building a Trial around his own routine. The wiki is simply noting the coincidence for the record.

New-Content Days

Every drop lands on a double-rune day — every task you complete that day, daily or weekly or companion, pays out at 2×. Boss damage moves with it stride for stride, since damage is derived straight from the Runes you actually earned. If you're carrying a Double Runes consumable on the same day, it stacks — a full 4×. Pick your day wisely.

Keeping Score

The Hall of Legacy now tracks a dedicated THE TRIALS section — Trials Won, Weekly Trials Conquered, Runes Claimed in Trial, and Keys Turned, career totals for every player. The Chronicle marks every trial win with its own cyan-accented entry, so a Trial victory reads differently from an ordinary day in the feed.

Notes & Tips

Something else stirs beyond the fog. The realm isn't finished with you yet.
