Daily Actions — Tasks, Workouts & Meals

The realm does not reward intent. It rewards the thing done.

Everything in Tarnished & Rising flows from three daily actions on the Quests tab: checking off tasks, logging workouts, and logging meals. They earn your Runes, they feed your Day Quality Score, and they are the damage your boss takes at 2am. This page is the "what do I actually do every day" reference.

Tasks

Tasks live in three tiers on the Quests tab. Tap to complete; tap again to un-complete (the Runes reverse exactly). Your personal task list is customizable in Settings — the values below are the standard per-task rates.

TierRunesWhat lives here
Tier 1400The daily basics — small, non-negotiable habits
Tier 21,200Meaningful daily commitments
Tier 31,250Stretch goals — top daily Rune pay; no effect on your DQS
Weekly1,250Once-per-week commitments — reset every Monday

Your T1/T2 completion rate is the always-on backbone of your DQS — see Grace & Day Quality Score for how the components weigh together. Completing tasks can also trigger loot drops — but each task gets exactly one roll per day, spent on first completion, so the checkbox can't be farmed.

Workouts

Tap LOG WORKOUT on the Quests tab. Weightlifting and Cardio ask for an intensity, and your Rune payout scales with volume up to that intensity's ceiling:

IntensityMeaningMax Runes
SkirmishLight effortUp to 2,500
SiegeSolid effortUp to 3,500
OnslaughtAll outUp to 5,000

Stretching and Other workouts pay a flat 2,500 — no intensity or volume modifier. Logging any workout gives full credit for the workout DQS component (if you have it enabled). An Onslaught session also earns a mention in the realm's Chronicle.

Rest Days

Rest is part of training. Logging a rest day pays a flat 1,000 Runes and counts as full workout credit for your DQS — as long as you're within your consecutive rest-day cap (default 4, adjustable per player in Settings). The streak is what matters: a real workout resets the count, and days with nothing logged count toward it too — an empty Monday and Tuesday leave less room for rest days before the cap. Past the cap, rest days stop giving credit until you log a real workout. The realm tolerates recovery but not hibernation.

Meals & Macros

Tap LOG MEAL to record what you ate — each logged meal pays 750 Runes. Search finds your previously logged meals first, backed by a library of common staples; anything new you log becomes searchable next time. The PANTRY button shows everything you've ever logged, most-used first — tap any entry to prefill it. Logging at least one meal gives full credit for the meal DQS component (it's binary — one report counts).

Only the first 4 meals a day pay

Runes, boss damage, and the loot roll all come from the first four paid meals each day. Log a fifth (or a tenth) and it still counts for your nourishment — the DQS component and the overnight macro check see every meal — but the payment line reads +0 Runes, and it says so right on the entry. The realm rewards eating, not data entry.

Quick Macros

Track your food somewhere else? The QUICK MACROS strip at the top of the meal modal takes day totals instead of individual meals — ADD stacks onto today's running total, SET replaces it. It all lands in one "Quick Macros" entry per day that the 2am macro check reads like any other meal. (The first entry pays like a normal meal; edits after that adjust the numbers, not the payment.)

The Macro Bonus

At the 2am reckoning, the engine checks four independent pass/fail macro targets against your logged meals. Each pass pays +1,000 Runes, up to 4,000/day:

The 70% calorie floor

You must log at least 70% of your daily calorie target for any macro bonus to fire. Barely eating (or barely logging) doesn't count as hitting your macros — the floor keeps the bonus honest.

Where It All Goes

Every action above earns Runes multiplied by your Ember multiplier, feeds your DQS → Grace level, and converts into boss damage at 2am. A day of real completed actions is, mechanically, an attack. That's the whole game.
